Commenting on the Chief Medical Officer's Annual Report, published today Liberal Democrat Health spokesman Ross Finnie MSP said:

"Dr. Burns is right to highlight childhood as crucial in developing healthy habits.

"If you are obese when you are young there is a 70% chance you will be an obese adult.

"That's why Liberal Democrats are calling for one hour of P.E. every day for Scotland's schoolchildren.

"We first want to ensure that the Government stick to their pledge of two hours of P.E. per week."
